Laboratory Billing and Reimbursement Guides
TLC provides your laboratory with the most up-to-date NCD and LCD Policy Manuals. Also provided is a comprehensive Billing & Reimbursement Guide that contains many compliance policies, forms and tools. The various customized forms and tools include CMS ABN, ABN Verification Sheets, reimbursement for bundled chemistries, AMA approved panel testing, charge entry follow-up forms and many more.

Coding and Billing Training
TLC provides full training to all physicians, providers, medical assistants, nurses, billing staff and laboratory staff for all customized billing and coding procedures, including proper use of the Laboratory Requisition Form, NCD, LCD, and ABNs, as well as code linkage and documentation. We also provide complete training of staff on manual charge entry or electronic order entry.

Laboratory Requisition Form
TLC will design and implement a customized and streamlined Laboratory Requisition Form. This form will include ICD-9 linkage, Reflex Testing Guidelines, NCD/LCD test identification for possible ABN requirement, laboratory order entry codes, reference lab test ordering, patient demographics, practice demographics and test frequency. This new customized Laboratory Requisition Form will ensure your laboratory testing is ordered within reimbursement guidelines, decreasing reimbursement denials and capturing appropriate laboratory revenues.

Billing Analysis
TLC identifies in-house & send-out testing that can be billed based on utilization, patient insurance and state regulations. TLC reviews in-house and reference lab testing, and where permitted by law, incorporates them into the billing schedule. TLC reviews current reference lab prices (when local law does not prohibit direct billing and services), as well as previous reference lab billing statements. TLC also performs a laboratory fee schedule audit and suggests changes, if warranted. TLC discusses findings with you and provides a report, complete with findings and recommendations.

Billing & Reimbursement Monitoring
TLC monitors reimbursement using custom billing system reports and EOB reviews, complete with summaries of findings and recommendations for improvement.
