Kathy Kalinowski, MGA, MT (ASCP), Product Director, has been actively employed in the clinical laboratory field for over 25 years, with over 9 years focused on the management of physician office laboratories. Kathy received her Bachelor’s of Science in Medical Technology from Towson University and her Masters of General Administration in Health Care at the University of Maryland. Kathy has worked in a large university hospital as a bench technologist, laboratory supervisor and student education/employee training coordinator. She was an instructor at the University of Maryland Medical and Research Technology program, where she also participated in numerous clinical trials. Kathy is an adjunct faculty member of University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, where she has taught in chemistry, urinalysis and phlebotomy. Cristy Reynolds, MT (ASCP), Regional Manager, has a BS in Medical Technology from the Medical University of South Carolina. She has been involved in the field of medical technology for over 15 years. For the last 10 years her career has been focused solely on the operations and management of physician office laboratories. Before joining Vital Diagnostics she spent 5 years as a CLIA inspector for the state of South Carolina. Her extensive experience with laboratory operations has helped to optimize client operations through improved operational flows, better staff utilization, laboratory financial management, on-going quality assessment and compliance checks. Cristy has also focused on POL billing and reimbursement issues and is working towards her AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certificate. Susan M. Cramer, MLT (ASCP), CLT (HHS), Regional Manager, has been involved in the field of medical technology for over 27 years. She spent the first 19 years in a hospital clinical laboratory setting and over eight years involved in the physician office laboratory market working six years as a Laboratory Manager for a large physician group practice in the Cincinnati area. In addition Susan has amassed vast experience in the information technology field as it relates to laboratory testing and instrumentation. Susan has spent her entire career in the clinical laboratory environment honing her technical and managerial skills. Nathalie Apke, MT (ASCP), Regional Manager, has a BS in Applied Microbiology from Bowling Green State University in Ohio as well as an MT (ASCP) certification from Mansfield General Hospital in Mansfield, Ohio. She has been employed in the clinical laboratory field for over 20 years, spending 8 years as a Lead Technologist for a high volume Immunology Hospital/ Reference Laboratory. She was directly involved in the merger and start up of a hospital based lab to a high volume reference laboratory facility. She has been a Regional Manager for Vital Diagnostics for over 3 years and has concentrated solely on the operations and management of physician office laboratories. Her knowledge and experience in complex laboratory testing has proven to be an asset in her working knowledge and management of the POL laboratories. Cheryl K. Muckenfuss, CPC, CMBS, Reimbursement Support Manager, is certified as a professional coder and medical billing specialist with extensive experience in the medical billing of large physician group practices. She has been with TLC for over ten years, focusing on POL reimbursement management. She is responsible for identifying and addressing laboratory issues pertaining to billing and compliance.
